Hi all,
I thought that I would post this to help anyone else that is doing a search. I just move about 700 email messages from my old machine running Microsoft Outlook Express to my Fedora box running evolution.
This is how I did it.
I did some surfing on the net and found a fairly detailed account of how to move Outlook to Thunderbird. Thunderbird is mail compatable with Evolution in Fedora, so you can move outlook through thunderbird and into evolution.
On your XP machine running Microsoft Outlook Express, down load Thunderbird and install it.
When you start Thunderbird for the first time, it will ask if you wish to import mail from Microsoft outlook or Outlook Express. Answer yes. It will bring your email into Thunderbird. Once done, quit Thunderbird.
Find where the Thunderbird inbox mail file is. Copy that to your Linux box that you have evolution on.
Run Evolution and say import file. Point it to the file that you copied over from XP that was the Thunderbird mail inbox. This will be in MAP format. Evolution will read it in and voila, you now have that email in Evolution.
Hope that helps,
LarryT
