Neverwinter Nights, Nvidia G8 GPUs and driver >100 = trouble?

At another forum I frequent, a friend of mine noted that there is a problem with nVidia G80 and the latest drivers for Windows and Neverwinter Nights (he claims NV dropped support for NWN). Now, I am curious, is this the same on Linux? Even though the Linux and Windows drivers share the same codebase, I'd very much doubt the Linux drivers drops support for OpenGL features found in Neverwinter Nights OpenGL implementation, but since I don't have a G80 I can't say for sure (nor do I know when will the next driver be released, as apparently this is the case only with the latest XP/Vista drivers). I only know that the problem seems to be that the menu doesn't show, but the game is "fine"... Apparently.
