Yum updates install software all hang

Hello,

Fedora core 6
x86/32

The software update tool hangs
I cannot add/remove programs because that hangs.
Yum command line hangs.

I have to connect through a proxy and have entered the proxy information in multiple places yet still everything hangs.

Why is this such an issue. The process should at least generate a message regarding the issue rather than just hang.

Please advise.

Rather than whine, I suggest you submit a bug report to bugzilla.redhat.com. They are very responsive IMO.

But this is not the case with my pc. I am too using FC-6 on x86/32.

According to LinuxQuestions.org, a person had the same problem. The guy had the latest version of sqlite but old version of python-sqlite. So you should try upgrading sqlite and python-sqlite.

Thank you for your replies.

I whine because, unfortunately, it is the only way to get a response. You hit people at the emotional level and they are more likely to take interest in the issue.

Unfortunately, I cannot update anything because yum, software updater, add remove programs hangs. (See my other post)

I understand this, but you can google for those packages and run the rpm tool to upgrade.
