real player

Hi, I want to install Real Player 10 but it's a BIN file and I don't have any experience at all with Binary files. Can someone tell me how to install and configure it please?
Thanks.

first make sure its executable by

right click goto file properties-permissions and click allow executing as a program

or

open terminal, cd to file and type
chmod +x RealPlayer10GOLD.bin

using terminal window
cd to the file
type in ./RealPlayer10GOLD.bin

and it should start setting up.

If you want to kill a process in terminal simply hit cntrl - c, and it will return you to the command prompt

configure it by running program from menu, then click tools-preferences

Although a Google search for 'RealPlayer' currently seems to send you to the site only supplying a .bin file, you can still d/l an .rpm package from <http://www.real.com/linux/>, which will install using ' software installer '. Hope this helps anyone who has problems getting the .bin to work, I know it seems to be a ' swear by/swear at ' situation whether the .bin or .rpm package works for a particular person!
