"Cauton" installing Limewire on Fc6
I was following a tutorial on FedoraSolved.org to install LimeWire. After the first command (unzip), I got this caution. I am not sure if I can proceed without fixing it.
[aaron@localhost ~]$ su -c 'unzip -u /home/aaron/LimeWireOther.zip _d /opt/'
Password:
Archive: /home/aaron/LimeWireOther.zip
caution: filename not matched: _d
caution: filename not matched: /opt/
I appreciate the advice.

You have a typo there. You used _d instead of -d

There's no big deal to install Limewire. A GUI procedure could be done like this with no hassle:
Download the LimeWireOther zipfile as you have done to your Gnome desktop
Right-click on the file and select 'Extract Here'
You'll notice the name of the folder will change to 'LimeWire' once extracted
Open a Terminal and su to root
type 'nautilus'
Navigate to /opt
Select the LimeWire folder with your MIDDLE mouse button and drag it to /opt in the open Nautilus window, release button and choose 'Move Here'
Right-click on the Gnome Panel menu and choose 'Edit Menus'
In the left pane click on 'Internet' and on the right pane select 'New Item'
Name=LimeWire
Comment= Whatever you like
Command=/opt/LimeWire/runLime.sh
For the icon navigate to /opt/LimeWire and select the icon there
Click 'OK' and close the menu editor
Should work now

I followed the LimeWire tutorial on Stan's site, and i have it up and running. Thank you. Unfortunately, no so for Azureus. It does not show up in Applications>Internet, so i cannot seem to launch it. I am going back to stan's site, and I will come back here with feedback after i mess around with it as best i can. Just wanted to thank you for the limewire advice.
Cheers!

Either Stan's CLUI method or my GUI total noobie method work fine for LimeWire. As for Azureus, I can't help you, I haven't and won't install it to test it as I refuse to make holes in my firewall(s) If it works for you from the CLUI then you just have to make a menu entry for it.

Dump LimeWire and grab FrostWire. It doesn't have that annoying pop-up every time you start it asking you to 'upgrade' to Pro (aka spending $$$$$)

Yes, I believe so (at least mine won't run until I update some Java packages). I've been using it ever since it came out. Just like Limewire but I think it is (or was) less annoying.

How do I install Frostwire or Limewire to work as normal user?
I installed as root and both work fine.
However when I login as user, the default Share folder is not accepted.
/home/user/Share
Of course I can use su and run Frostwire from shell command but is this wise?

How did you install the version of Frostwire you're using? I just grabbed the tarball and extracted it to '/opt/frostwire' as per my instructions for Limewire earlier in this thread and made a Gnome menu entry for it pointing to the 'runFrostwire.sh' script.

I used a Fedora rpm package for Frostwire and a general rpm package for Limewire which wasn't "certified".
Perhaps I should delete these and start again using tarballs. I use KDE.

Replying eventually to my own installation problem:
I found that if I opted for the folder "/home/frostwire" instead of "/home/user/frostwire" for shared files, there was no problem finishing the installation as an ordinary user. Very Strange.
