Ever wanted a way to install asterisk on Fedora Core 6 and didn’t want to mess around with the 100 different supposed “best ways” to do so. Well you’re in luck, I’ve created the following script:
http://www.securemind.org/v4/wp-cont...tall-script.sh , which will walk you through the process.
The only things that you’ll need to download are:
1. Asterisk 1.4 from the official website
2. iksemel-1.2.tar.gz
3. libpri-1.4.0-beta1.tar.gz
All of which can be found with a couple of simple google searches.
1. Download each of them to a temporary folder that you can work in.
2. Save the script into the same folder as well.
3. make the script executable with “chmod +x asterisk-install-script.sh”
4. run the script with “./asterisk-install-script.sh”
5. most of the install is automated, once it is finished it will give you some additional dialog instructing you to alter a few asterisk core files and then start asterisk its self.
6. now you can log into the web interface and be on your way
Enjoy! And remember this script is free to use and change and if it breaks something on your system, I’m not responsible.
