via rhine and eth0 problem

Hello everyone,

Just built a new system and am having trouble getting my ethernet device up and running. Any time I attempt to activate it, I get the following message, "via-rhine device eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization". The specific device appears to be "via vt86c100a", an integrated ethernet controller on the motherboard. Odd part is, if I remember correctly, I think the device worked during installation. modprobe.conf appears to be in order, as the first line is "alias eth0 via-rhine". Any ideas?
