IBM Thinkpad on the fly CD / DVD removal FC5

Hello,

Does anyone know how can I safely stop and remove an Ultrabay 2000 device (CD or DVD) on a T30 while it is still running? Normally on Windows if I unlock the removal lever Windows will stop the device present in the Ultrabay and the Ultrabay power led powers down

. Then the device can be removed. On FC5 if I do that the Ultrabay power led is still up.

Ideas?
