Strange graphics behavior after nVidia driver install (FC6)?

Hi,

I'm new to Linux, Fedora and this forum.
Well, I passed installing Fedora Core 6 and with a little help of this HowTo I also passed install the nVidia drivers for my gfx card and then this HowTo helped me to solve the blinking cursor issue.

But there is still something wrong in my GNOME Desktop.
When I'm dragging some icons on desktop or in nautilus, they have a big ugly black background around the icons - no transparency around the icons like it should be?
Also when I'm using Alt+Tab to switch between programms the hole programm windows is completely black until I release holding the Alt key.
And when I'm minimizing or restoring windows to or from the task bar, the minimize or restore animation is also shown black.

I hope I could explain what the problem is and I hope there is a solution for this?

I have the same problem with my nVidia drivers. It's probably something to do with the drivers being fairly new I think.

FC6 x86
AMD64 3200+
nVidia GeForce 6800.

Modify your xorg.conf a bit:

	Load  "extmod"
	Load  "glx"

Will it fix the strange window border problem as well?

Look at the top corners of the active window

Just to confirm, I had the same problem and when I added that entry it fixed the issues including the strange window border issue

"The Windows XP install disc played backwards gives out commands from Satan but thats nothing, played forward it will install Windows XP"

If you are that cursed you might be unlucky enough to get windows !!

Try getting new latest drivers from NVIDIA webite and update the drivers
