Remeber that old game called xlander? It was the first game I played in Linux, and I *think* it was on Red Hat version 4 or 5. It ran extremely well on an old Pentium MMX.
I got a RPM for it, and it installs and runs (I was expecting weird dependencies, but there were none).
However, my computer runs the thing so fast, it's not playable. The lunder lander crashes the instant the game starts, presumably because this computer runs the simulator far too quickly.
So I'm curious - does anyone know of a way to slow a program down? I know such a program exists for MS-DOS; it was kinda like a wrapper than called the old program you wanted, and it wasted enough clock cycles to "simulate" an old computer. What I'm looking for is basically the same thing for fedora...
Any ideas? Thanks!
Edit: I tried running it with a nice value of 19, but it doesn't help... still far too fast.
