Can anyone explain how USB works under Linux? Especially Fedora Core 1?
I have had EXTREMELY unreliable funtionality with all of my USB devices. I have a compact flash card reader, and can mount/umount it 2 maybe 3 times before I need a reboot. Same thing with my Zaurus connection.
The really wacky thing related to the CF card reader, is that the /mnt/flash directory MAGICALLY appears and disappears! I thought this kind of crap only happened in Windows.
Can someone please explain how USB works, and what process controls it, so at least I can just restart a service instead of rebooting when it stops working. SOMETHINGS got to be controlling the USB communications, I just can't get information on WHAT.
Thanks.
