I recently installed java and I can see java applets but if I try to load a page where I have to input text I am unable. A dot appears in the upper right hand corner of the text box but it will not accept any text, any ideas?

You probably have fc5 32 bit version? A fresh install of java, does that mean you installed it your self? There's some things to bear in mind installing java, i wonder if you're aware of them? http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_cor...otes.html#Java
