I have been runing a folding@home work unit on FC6 for almost 2 weeks on my Pent II 800.
It is at 89% and wil complete tomorrow.
I have noted that after each gcc or glib or kernel update
the time to do one percent reduces by a signifigant amount.
It started at 1 hr 58 min (FC6 online install from ealy June with updates thru FC6t2 release))
then reduced as
1 hr 56
1 hr 54 min
and now is at
1 hr 51 min (+ or - some seconds in each case)
This is approx a 6% speed up up on fp math.
I think this is a very big change.
Can anyone verify this or other types of cpu processes speeding up that much?
