Wireless Wierdness

I recently went over to Fedora 5 and have had an interesting time setting my wireless card up.
It's working, but the interface Fedora gives me is wrong.
As of now my wireless card is being read as any other network card with no wireless options. In order to connect to anything i need to go into a terminal and type it all out.

I'm on a IBM Thinkpad T40 (laptop) and installed the drivers from madwifi.org and followed the instructions and all, but heres the problem:
I go to Network Configuration and i see my Wireless Card listed as Ethernet. When i try to change the options, all i get are the same choices i get from my Wired LAN card, with nothing about finding a signal or whatnot. When i try to add a new wireless device, my card doesnt show up... but when i click to add a new ethernet connection both my wired and wireless cards show up.

Does anyone know why Fedora doesnt see my card as a wireless one?
Thanks for your time,
Geoff
