Cool [FC5] Dell Inspiron 1300 ACPI + Screen resolution question

Problem 1:
I've been able to put my resolution on 1024*768, but can't go higher, I've checked my hardware and resolution.
The hardware(system-config-display) states Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS, an i810 chipset. (---> intergrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900, Intel 910GML with 64MB shared is the real hardware)
Normally it should be able to get 1280*1024.
Anyone a hint on how to?

Problem 2:
Upon booting I have an error(without further issues by this error afterwords) with the ACPI_cpufreq.
I understand why this ACPI is for, but is it safe to disable this on a laptop? Would acpi=off added to the boot parameters be enough?
Does APM replace ACPI?

Problem 3:
Sound issue, I have very weak sound if I use my headset, without headset I have no sound.

Type: AC'97
Audiocontroller: SigmaTel STAC9200

Tried the config(sound), alsamixer, volume control, preferences.

Than I noted an online solution to install the alsadrivers manually, but I arrived at this part where I'm stuck as I don't quite understand it.
After the ./configure command...
If this tells you that something like ``version.h'' cannot be found, then you probably do not have a proper kernel source tree. You need a couple of files of your kernel source to be able to compile the ALSA-drivers. Unpack your favorite linux-2.x.y.tar.gz in /usr/src,
coz I have that error now, and don't know how to move on
