    You can try this.

If you haven't tried the alpha, Adobe has it here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/f...r10/64bit.html
    Release notes: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/f...tes_64bit.html
The release notes describe installing it to a ~/.mozilla/plugins directory.

As root, I created a /usr/lib64/flash-plugin/ directory and put libflashplayer.so there. Then, I created a symbolic link to the .so which I placed in /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins .

I did a couple more steps that may or may not be needed:
    as root:
    # yum install totem-mozplugin
    # mozilla-plugin-config -i -g -v (only if needed)

    My about:plugins shows this:
    Shockwave Flash

    File name: nswrapper_64_64.libflashplayer.so
    Shockwave Flash 10.0 r32

    MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled
    application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash swf Yes
    application/futuresplash FutureSplash Player spl Yes

VLC Multimedia Plugin (compatible Totem 2.28.2)

    File name: libtotem-cone-plugin.so
The Totem 2.28.2 plugin handles video and audio streams.

    video/flv Flash video flv Yes

Looks like totem-mozplugin is supporting flash video? The release notes caution against using nspluginwrapper. You may want to skip the mozilla-plugin-config step.

    In the system requirements:
"Only Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) is supported (OSS/ESD will not play audio; audio will silently fail). Only GTK2-based browser versions are supported."
I also have alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.x86_64 installed (from the installation DVD).

I'm no expert. Someone else may have better technical knowledge. Try it and see if this helps.

    Lightbulb solved

    Hi

I had exactly the same problem and I just solved it.
Internet is only half the fun without flash with sound. Especially when you want to slap the monkey.

My guess is that you have still the 32bit flash version installed. So uninstall it and check with
    [suvi@tower ~]$ rpm -qi flash-plugin
    package flash-plugin is not installed

    also remove nsplugin wrapper.

    then download it from:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flas...r10_64bit.html

    # Unpackage the file. A directory with contains libflashplayer.so will be created.
    # Copy libflashplayer.so to ~/.mozilla/plugins. Create the 'plugins' folder if it does not exist yet.
    # Launch your brower. To verify installation in Firefox choose Help > About Plug-ins from the browser menu.

    see here for details:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/f...tes_64bit.html

Also yum update so have the latest pluseaudio updates (maybe this solves it for you)

    what is your output with
    rpm -qai flash-plugin

    and

    rpm -qai nsplugin-wrapper

    ?

    Both commands return nothing.

Playing sound through VLC & Totem Media Player work so I guess sound is working in general.

    Edit:

Re: No sound (Flash 10) in Fedora 12 x86_64

I had a similar problem with F13. To clarify, you need to install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.i686. The binary flash plugin uses alsa and needs the x86 plugin libs to talk to pulseaudio.

Re: No sound (Flash 10) in Fedora 12 x86_64

    Hi jlayton

Thanks for the hint. I modified the supersize script for fedora13. So people who are going to install flash with the supersize script will have functional sound as well.

Re: No sound (Flash 10) in Fedora 12 x86_64

I notice a lot of people here push the 64 bit alpha plugin, just remember it will break your hulu playing. hulu.com recently broke movie/tv playing on the 64bit flash version under linux.
My guess is they have some kind of hacks in their code to make it hard to not watch their commericials

hulu says it's a problem inherent with 64bit linux but don't believe them, the 64bit plugin works
fine everywhere else (youtube plays sound on videos just fine with the 64bit plugin).

Since there's not much tangible benefit of the 64bit player over the 32bit + nspluginwrapper
other than it's a bit more elegant (no need for a wrapper), it's probably better to go
with the 32bit unless you totally never use hulu.

There's a workaround...use huludesktop and not your browser.

There's a 64-bit download and that works just fine. Watched some 30Rock and Family guy just yesterday.

Re: No sound (Flash 10) in Fedora 12 x86_64

    hello,
I have the same problem, I can see video form youtube but I can't play the sound.
generally when I use the the vlc or mplayer I can hear very well the sound.
I gave a look at the post and it looks like the als-plugins-pulseaudio resolved the problem but I have installed and it still doesn't work.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you
