    Atheros wifi and ath9k driver

    Hi all,
I bought myself a new developer station hoping to get some serious programming done. Unfortunately I havent even managed to get my lousy network to work yet.
I first tried with installing Fedora 21, struggled with my ath9k driver for awhile and then gave up and installed Ubuntu 14.10. Well, a day later that one isn't working either and Im starting to get frustrated.

So, has someone managed to get this working?
    Code:
Network controller [0280]: Qualcomm Atheros AR93xx Wireless Network Adapter [168c:0030] (rev 01)
    Best Regards

No, but I recently bought a refurbished Thinkpad that had a driver that wouldn't work with a FreeBSD install. So, I bought a $7.00 Edimax USB wireless and it works well, (also works with Fedora)

Sorry, seems to have gone up a couple of bucks since I bought it, but still cheap and free shipping if you're in the US.

I realize this doesn't answer your question, but if you don't get an answer, it's an alternative.

Thanks for the hint, unfortunately Im not in the US
I'm about to give up on this one and put windows on that machine and do my programming and scripting through Virtualbox, a shame but have to get the work done.

    Thanks for answering anyway!
    Cheers

Don't give up so quick. What exactly is not working with your card? Do you have a interface? Any error messages?
    $ dmesg | grep ath9k
    Share the output.

Re: Atheros wifi and ath9k driver

I had a similar problem on kernel3.18 and 3.19 on Fedora Server 21.
    I installed rfkill and lshw
prompted lshw -C network = *-network DISABLED
prompted rfkill list = Soft blocked = no and Hard blocked = no
    iwconfig listed my card
    but ifconfig did not.
then I solved it by install NetworkManager-wifi.
