I think it's because I performed a **minimal install** like I always do in order to get only what I need and not a whole bunch of 'extra' packages as they're useless and take up space - since I only have less then 12GB.


Additionally I was starting my system in Runlevel 3 since recently until I found out that I wasn't getting any software based video acceleration while running startx.

Gnome3 was going into forced failback mode rather then me forcing it to via the options panel.


Now have linked the default.target symlink to init runlevel 5 and there is 3D video acceleration but am still ironing out the kinks and bugs.


Would prefer to login to CLI directly then use Gnome when needed to as am not fond of GUI's!
