No offense, but my point was that if you are unhappy with a distribution's package selection you should look into one that has what you need.

Fedora claims to be "free" although it does have some 'non-free' aspects, but on the surface it is fairly free. Having said that., Moonlight (mono), Java, will definitely not be going into the repo's.

Oh, I'm sorry: I completely overlooked that this was exclusively aimed at the Fedora repository. My suggestions considered RPMFusion as well (though they also ruled out packaging Sun JDK).

Have you checked out RPM Fusion repository? Most of non-free packages are in there, just take a look.

If you have packaging skills you can easily get in contact with RPM Fusion guys and make packages for software that you can't find there already.

Re: What software is missing in the Fedora repository?

    Hi,
    I use Wally from http://www.becrux.com/index.php?page...cts&name=wally
This program allow wallpaper time-defined change from pictures of different sources (folder, flicker, picassa, etc..)
A debian compilation exists and fror Fedora we have to compile it using QT4 and different dependencies making installation a little hard for medium user as me !!
Thank you fro your attention about it !

Re: What software is missing in the Fedora repository?

I searched in this thread for Openshot, didn't find.
    So I would say Openshot.

    If already mentioned the +1.
