This is what mine shows
# ps aux | grep gdm
Code:
root 8387 0.0 0.0 89080 856 pts/2 S+ 20:17 0:00 grep --colour=auto gdm
# ps aux | grep kdm
Code:
root 922 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 18:30 0:00 [kdmflush]
root 1937 0.0 0.0 32812 1204 ? Ss 18:30 0:00 /usr/bin/kdm -nodaemon
root 8389 0.0 0.0 89084 936 pts/2 S+ 20:17 0:00 grep --colour=auto kdm
It is for this reason I always install from a live kde. if you start from gnome it becomes extremely entrenched.
the kind of suggestions i have are the kind that are likely to kill the install - starting by perhaps killing the gdm processes to something as drastic as removing gdm.
