and ran

which installed a few more things
then ran
hp-setup
and it seems to be...

Re: printing problem with hp1020

I used to be able to print to my HP1020, but some recent update seems to have made it flakey. There are some error messages in /var/log/messages that I have copied below:

OK, thanks for the reply.

When I used either pm-hibernate or pm-suspend the pm-suspend.log file had this:

Re: BASIC Compliers for Fedora Core 16?

There are a number of options listed here:
http://www.thefreecountry.com/compilers/basic.shtml

It would depend on what is required, e.g. if you have programs written for MS QuickBasic, or...

Re: 3.3.x kernels, will ANY ever work?

I can boot the 3.3 kernels OK, but my microphone doesn't work (it's fine on the 3.2 series, so I'm sticking with that at the moment). I was having all kinds of problems with segfaults recently, so...

Re: No nvidia for -3.3.1-2.fc16.x86_64

You can install the akmod-nvidia package and it should build the kmod. Might need to reboot twice.

However, I was having a lot of problems with segfaults lately so I completely removed the...

Re: System not starting after I tried to remove "most codecs" in autoplus

If you can plug into your network with an ethernet cable that should just work immediately (unless something to do with basic networking has been deleted...).

It's not impossible to run wireless...

Re: how do I check for dependencies?

I would download the RPM files that he mentions and then do (as root)

yum localinstall cndrvcups-capt-1.80-1.i386.rpm

This is better than...

Re: Can't hibernate laptop

I used to be able to hibernate in F15. I don't think it worked ever since the upgrade.

System Monitor reports 3.8GB Memeory, 4.9GB swap. Has something changed so I need a bigger swap space?

Following the advice here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=746097
to add
tpm_tis.itpm=1
to my Lenovo T510 boot option seems to have bypassed the problem for me for now.
