Re: Urgent: Network died after upgrade

When the upgrade process finished (from the DVD) it asked if I wanted to reboot. I clicked the reboot button. When it came up the network was dead.

As for fixing it, I spent the better part of a...

Re: Urgent: Network died after upgrade

I have since discovered that the upgrade from 16 to 17 with the DVD failed to install a great many packages. Using grep for *fc16* revealed over 1000 packages, while grep for *fc17* yielded about...

I started with Fedora 11, currently running Fedora 16 x86_64. When I installed 11 I accepted the defaults for partitions, which set up a small partition for preupgrades and took the entire remainder...

Re: Chrome download fails

I found the Chrome repo and unchecked it (in Yumex). That made the update disappear. Then I used your wget and yum update lines to update it. I now have the latest. But if I leave the Chrome repo...

Re: mmcblk0 is write-protected, mounting read-only >>

OK, let me offer my experience.

I have a Thinkpad T61 with a Ricoh card reader. I was never able to get it to mount any media read/write. All I could get was read-only. The same media mounted...

Re: Error while loading shared libraries: libQtWebKit.so.4

Thanks PabloTwo and JEO. I already had the 64-bit qtwebkit package installed, so I installed the 32-bit version. It insisted on installing 50 MB of additional 32-bit stuff (grrr), but I went ahead....

Re: install openoffice writer from yum

Kerning refers to spacing between letters. Consider the word "Awe." The font designer (should have) created a kerning table so the space between the A and the w would be less than normal. Ditto for...

Re: install openoffice writer from yum

Cokedude,

Now that things are a bit clearer, installing OpenOffice.org instead of LibreOffice will not help. You may as well use LibreOffice.

The problem is almost surely in the font that was...

Re: install openoffice writer from yum

I believe you can download the RPM of OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org. I would recommend uninstalling LibreOffice before installing OpenOffice.org.

Re: Can't install flash-plugin 11.1.102-62-release i386

Re: Can't install flash-plugin 11.1.102-62-release i386

Re: Help! Virtualbox locks computer!

Thanks for the reply. No I did not do that command, and I don't want to do it just at the moment (but more in a moment). For one thing, this being Fedora, there is a kernel update every few hours, so...
