so this is a wonderfull site and ive been helped out of many a poor situation by it and its contributors, so first off thanks for everything. I hade a thought, that as a newb, posting things that for the most part turn out to be simple/stupid in retrospect, it might be a good idea to have a forum for all us the newbs to post our questions about stuff till we actaly know whats going on, where we could get some experrt advice. also, i (like many others i think) sometimes dont know exactly where to post things, as we dont know enough about the problem. some of the more experianced users dont seem too thrilled with our confusion, but im shure that there are many people out there who are not at all bothered by our ackwardness, and would love to help. any way it would let those who wanted to help us out help us and let the rest of them not be bothered. thats all, great site, thatnks again for all of it.

Well, we love to answer all sorts of questions at every level. Kind of hard sometimes to figure what is simple and what's difficult. I often think 'Oh, this will be quick..." and 35 posts later we're still working on it. Of course, one of the resources that gets overlooked is that FedoraFAQ button up on top. A wealth of informantion there.

If you read the Guidelines, those who respond to posts are supposed to assume that the questioner is new and answer in detail, which of course would help the next person who's looking for info. And, if someone seems short or a bit abrupt, please remind them that you don't understand the answer. I would hope that any member willing to contribute knowledge would be doing so from a desire to help, not to show off.

Oh yes, if something about the post is out of place; maybe put in the wrong Forum or such, keep in mind that we always have highly paid Community Managers (who are still waiting for our first check) who will be around trying to keep things straightened out.

The 'newb' forum idea has already been proposed, and for now it's not possible... Although there are many, many newb guides people can read if they'd like:

http://rute.2038bug.com/index.html.gz
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=53362

if you ever see a newb now you can just give them the link :D

When in doubt, put your support questions in General Support.

Just mention you're new to this kind of thing, things will work out fine. We don't mind.
