I have just replaced my aging Soundblaster Live! card with my new
SB Audigy LS. Fc4 didn't report any hardware change at boot.
When running System Settings -> Soundcard detection (KDE 3.5.1), it
detects the model correctly and using the module snd-ca0106, but only noise
is coming out of the two speakers when playing the test sound.

Also when playing xmms or other programs, there's only noise.
I've tried kmix and alsamixer, but they are all turned on.

There's onboard sound on my motherboard (Asus A7N8X), maybe this has
something to do with it ?

Just to clarify, the onboard sound is turned off in bios. I checked to be sure ,and
also saw a MIDI entrance which I turned off, didn't change anything though.

I can turn the static noise off in alsamixer by reducing "analog front" to zero. But then
there's no output at all.
