hi i installed fc4 in my system and i cannot see my sound card. the sound card is onboard to themotherboard and the model is ASUS P5RD1-VM. could someone help me with that issue please?

It looks like your motherboard has ULi M1573 chipset with integrated AC'97 audio controller. Go to the linux alsa sound homepage at www.alsa-project.org and click on bug reporting/feature requests and ask them in that to see if your chipset is supported or not. Also make sure you have the latest kernel, system-config-soundcard, alsa, alsa-lib rpm packages installed (run up2date).

is there any other way apart from just reporting the bug?
i am running kernel 2.6.11. how can i install the AC97 drivers?

Run up2date like I said. Your kernel is not the latest kernel and the latest kernel contains the newest alsa driver modules. If it doesn't work after updating to the latest kernel then report the bug.
