Hi, I tried to install Fedora Core 4 on an IBM Thinkcentre M51, which has an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900, which i think is based on the intel 915 chipset. I cannot get xwindows to work. When i try to start X, i get an error along the lines of "Screens found but none have a usable configuration." The depth seems to be invalid. When I try modifying the default depth in the xorg.conf file, e.g. to 8 or 24 instead of 16, i have no luck. I see that Intel provides a driver for SUSE 9, but I'm not sure if / how to set this up with Fedora.
Does anyone have experience getting X to run with this hardware?
thanks,
