I have installed Fedora Core 5 Test 3 64BIT.
My Hardware;
ASUS P5V800-MX
Inetl 3.0GHZ 64BIT
1 HD 40GB IDE (IBM)
1 HD 80GB SATA (WD)
MS wireless mouse/keyboard with a single connector.

The system is working good and stable. Installed on the IDE HD.
After I did a complete yum update there is no SATA support.

I know that there is a driver for this board at: http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=420&OSID=15&CatID=1830&SubCatID=167
Since its for FC4 I am not sure it will be wise to use it on FC5 ( I am new with Linux).

Please advise on this.

Thanks,
Shay

Usually its ok.... although sometimes installing fc4 on fc5 goes bad.
as for SATA there is, I know Nvidia SATA works...

Hmmmm. I wonder if this is a 64 bit issue.
My FC5T3 is installed on a 300GB sata Seagate drive.

My hardware:
ASUS P4C800 E Deluxe
Intel P4 2.4GHz
hda - 80GB Western Digital IDE with Windows XP NTFS
hdb - 120GB Western Digital IDE with Fedora Core 4
sda - 300GB Seagate SATA with Fedora Core 5 Test 3
MS Wireless Desktop Elite keyboard and mouse combo with a PS/2 keyboard connector and a USB mouse connector.
When I used the USB to PS/2 adapter I had jerky mouse movements in FC5T3 but I removed the adapter and plugged the mouse connector directly into a USB port and all is fine now.
My FC5 installation shares the /boot partition with FC4 on hdb and the grub bootloader is on hda so I can boot any OS from the grub menu.

my NVIDIA sata doesn't! on FC4-AMD64 nvidia 410, going to try FC5-test3... if it's not working on 64bit I'm going to try on 32, if it is stil not working...

I think that's the problem. Test 3 32-bit I'm pretty confident about.

Yup FC5 test 3 AMD64 is working (but with a lot of bugs. So i'm going to 32bit, or i'll better wait for the final version)
