I'm trying to do a fresh install of FC4 on x86 and the installation hangs at:
[<c01012b1>] kernel_thread_helper+0x5/0x14
Any idea what this means or how to get around it?

I am having the same exact issue.. I can boot up FC4 CD1, and enter "linux text" at the command prompt. But right after that it spews out a bunch of error codes:
[<c01002b8>] init+0x10/0xf0
[<c01012b1>] kernel_thread_helper+0x5/0x14
Code: c8 fc ff 8b 45 4c 3d 3c 4b 24 1d 74 90 e8 8e ca fc ff 8d 55 4c 50 52 68 6a 01 00 00 68 28 4b 37 c0 e8 c5 c8 fc ff <0f> 0b 1e 01 88 c0 37 c8 e9 7b fe ff ff 8b 54 24 3c 8b 44 24 08
<0>Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
...etc
after a while of just sitting there the screen changed to:
[<c0105b8e>] do_softirq+0x3e/0x50
=============
[<c0105a88>] do_IRQ+0x58/0x90
[<c0103c4a>] common_interrupt+0c1a/0x28
[<c011244b>] delay_pmtmr+0xb/0x20
[<c0208c90>] __delay+0x9/0x10
[<c01202eb>] panic+0x13b/0x1b0
...etc
Any ideas?
