Last night I installed one of my systems using the CD isos. I was forced to use text mode, which isn't an issue to me on that machine, but I wanted to do a "mimimal installation". This was offered in the GUI installer in FC4, but not in text mode on FC5. So, I simply unselected everything that was offered to me in the package selection figuring that was the closest thing to a bare bones install.

I was a bit put off that I needed all five disks to do the installation and the list packages that was being installed was a little more than I would expect in a minimal configuration. Bluez-libs from disk 5 springs to mind.

I was going to open a feature request in bugzilla, but do you think it should be along the lines of "don't install extraneous crap so you can install from just disk1" or simply "please include 'minimal system' in the text mode installer"?

Which test release do you use? Rawhide version might provide that option, if not submit request on bugzilla.

This was with test2, sorry I didn't include that originally.

The text mode install has quite a few more options than the gui shot you posted, and the behavior I described was after de-selecting all of them.

I'll try again with test 3 since it's almost out and report back.
