scanner success!

A while ago i bought a canon LIDE35 scanner and to my dismay it was not going to work with linux only the LIDE30 was supported.

today, i plugged it in just out of boredom and loaded up GiMP BOOM! it worked! no config needed, just told GiMP to acquire from xsane device and it found my scanner and scanned the photo i had in the scanner without any fuss

so if anyone was wondering about the LIDE35 now it seems to work

I was looking at the LIDE 35 as well, that is great news that it works!

Did you try using xsane with it? 99% of what I do is creating PDFs from scanned documents, I plan on using xsane.

I have a Canoscan 8400f which is a great scanner, it is a shame it isn't supported. :(
