I'll be honest I'm a real noob to linux. I just installed the 64 bit version of FC4 and I have not been able to get my radeon X700 graphics card to work. I currently can only run in VGA mode as even the generic VESA drivers don't work. I've read alot of the other posts and the instructions people post don't seem to work. My main problem seems to somehow be with FGLRX, I have done "yum -y update" and "yum install ati-fglrx kernel-module-fglrx" and then rebooted with the new kernel. when I type "glxinfo | grep "direct rendering"I get "Error: unable to open display (null). When I attempt fglrxconfig I get "command not found". I have also downloaded the drivers on the ATI website instead of livna and it *looks* like it works but fglrxconfig and glxinfo don't work. At this point I'd be content with something besides either text or 320x200 resolution and work on acceleration later. Anyone have any clue what I'm doing wrong?
