i bought a subeam illuminted keyboard a few weeks ago and have been using it with windows xp, but it does not want to light up in fc4, it flashed for a second starting up the comp, but other than that it does not work. i am using it with a laptop through a ps/2 to usb adapter, the same configuration as when i was using it with windows. if anyone has any ideas please let me know!

thanks,
wesy

from your description it seems, the keyboard needs special drivers for the lighting to function.. I'd either contact the manufacturer about that, or return it and get a keyboard, that doesn't rely on the driver

Or it's not getting enough power. Try it on a powered USB port if you have one.

i know that it is getting enough power because i used the same configuration with windows which worked, i do think it is some sort of driver thing. the button to turn the light on/off is the scrool lock key, so when i press it it might just act as a regular keyboard key rather than the on/off button.

in this case, it is a drivers problem.. I suggest returning the keyboard and getting a linux-friendly one like the Saitek Eclipse
