I've setup a small repo for anyone interested in tainting the purity of their FC5 i386 systems with restrictive codecs. Instructions can be found on my website: http://dclam.com

Uh, have fun!

EDIT: Sorry, the ugly plugins had unsatisfied deps, they're fixed now though.

Excellent! I take it that with the gstreamer "ugly" plugins we can get mp3 support for apps such as rhythmbox and amarok? Has anyone tried this?

BTW can anyone elaborate on the origins of the gstreamer's "good, bad, and ugly" plugins (other than the names are obviously taken from the old spaghetti western of the same name with Clint Eastwood as I recall)?

Looks like the gstreamer bad and ugly plugins are also built now at freshrpms. See http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrpms/fedora/linux/development/gstreamer-plugins-bad/ and http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrpms/fedora/linux/development/gstreamer-plugins-ugly/.

Yes, I saw today that freshrpm's now has packages. I will leave them up for a bit, but I would suggest everyone go with the freshrpms.

Thanks for the link.

What does this message mean:
GPG key retrieval failed: [Errno 5] OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-freshrpms'

should I just ignor it?

I'm only used to apt and debs.
