I have a system with onboard ATA (that I want to boot from) and a Ultra100 TX card. For some reason when the ATA card is plugged in the system boots from that card first instead of the onboard IDE.

Is there a way to change this? the only BOS option is boot ATA first, and I have the onboard IDE set in the first position of the boot order.

I think that the Promise card has a higher priority or something and boots first.

Any help would be appreciated.

What motherboard do you have?

Have you looked all around in the BIOS? I'ts possible there are settings in different menus that can affect boot order.

I just ended up deleting the partition that was booting and I'm fine now. I have a P4PE with ATAPI CDROM, 3 IDE drives onboard, 4 IDE drives on Promise board and 2 SATA. All are at least seen by the system and my primary partition is booting fine. Now I need to hunt aroud for a way to RAID 0 the disks in software. There must be a device manager out there somewhere.

thanks
