The mirror's of Fedora Core say's it was up some days before it really was released. Why?

Example:

Fedora Core 4: 13 June 2005 - General Availability

At ftp://ftp.port80.se/fedora/core/4/ it says it was last modified 2005-06-07

All mirrors says that.

My theory is that they thought they had to change something but they didn't find anything to change. Is it so? If it is so, damn all mirrors are fast downloading the latest to their FTP/HTTP-server.

The dates are meaning less , and so are the trust of the sites.

Other sites and other data are just as crazy.
Completely unacceptable computer practice.
