I'm pretty much a Suse user sometimes FC4 user. Have both installed.
I really like Fedora Core but Suse keeps pulling me back because it has YaST which I really like. Will FC5 have anything similar to YaST?
Hope I haven't offended anyone. :)

Have you tried the graphical version of yum called yumex? Or another equivalent is kyum which is a gui also and for KDE.

Yumex is very nice. Software installation through Yumex and Yum are a pleasure to use. I'm still quite new to Linux, about 1 year so far. It's changing hardware configuration, Firewall and GRUB configuration that seems to trip me up without the comfort of a gui.

Maybe you didn't notice, but there are very much graphical tools in Fedora. It is not an all-in-one configuration panel, but it are seperated tools. It is not the same, just get used to it :)
To see the list of installed config-tools, open a terminal and type:
system-config
and press <Tab> twice.
If you want a complete overview of the available config-tools, have a look at the last at http://fedora-linux.nl/wiki/index.php/Configuratie
It's Dutch, but the configurationtool-names are the same :)

pirut is the new system tool for Fedora Core 5 replacing system-config-package.
It is currently on early stage. One of the feature is users will be able to install their own repository.

Actually it looks like the same thing anaconda uses during the install from rawhide here lately. You will see it again during the Test2 install fest once it's released tomorrow.
