Airsnort with IPW2200

I am trying to get my ipw2200 to work with airsnort and cannot seem to get it working. I have the most recent drivers ieee80211.1.1.8 and ipw2200.1.0.10. Kismet works like a charm but I want to check out the functionality of airsnort.

When I start the program I chose "other" driver becuase I have compiled and setup the driver for ipw2200 myself. When I press start I get a notice that says "You must place your card into monitor mode manually. Channel scan may not be available"

I have tried placing the card into monitor mode manually using the command as root iwconfig eth1 mode monitor but still get the message and no traffic seems to get logged. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I get the same problem. I did notice that for about two seconds after I put my card into monitor mode I can't ping internet sites. For some reason my card resets to managed mode automatically, in which case i can ping internet sites. The switch is not persistent for some reason. working on it and will post if i find anything out
