Does anyone know if this works with Firefox? I installed it via yum, but it didn't seem to work, and the file they recommend deleting on the site doesn't seem to exist on my system

If it doesn't, is there a similar plug-in that works for firefox?

How was firefox installed? How was mozplugger installed? What file did the site recomend deleting?
Try to copy the mozplugger.so to /usr/lib/firefox-x.x/plugins dir (if it exists)
Also, you need to close and restart firefox after installing plugins.
Then you can type about:plugins in the address bar and get a list of installed plugins and supported
file types.

edit, Just noticed you installed via yum

Dito, hiberphoptik, but I left moz in as well since it handles other things too.

1. Lets see.. I think I installed it via RPM from the site.
2. As the first post mentioned, via yum
3.http://mozplugger.mozdev.org/ it says you may need to delete $HOME/.mozilla/pluginreg.dat but this file does not exist

I did restart the browser, but I still didn't seem to be getting quicktime support. I have mplayer installed, but I wanted quicktime support which mozplugger was reported to have.

I'll check the about:plugins when I fire up my laptop shortly.

I can play some quicktime and can not play some quicktime. mplayerplug-in also supports quicktime (mplayerplug-in-qt.so)
I do not know what the problem is with some quicktime (maybe same as some .wmv?).

Does anyone have ZERO problems with any qt files? or are there more than one qt. I just assumed all quicktime is apple tm
quicktime.

okay I got a chance to look at my about:plugins, seems mplayer or mozplugger aren't listed.
Only Shockwave flash and default. What files do I need to move and where for mplayer and mozplugger to work?

[edit] I got the mozplugger and mplayer plug-in installed. One of them has caused my powerpoint presentations to now open in firefox itself instead of popping up in open office as they previously did (ones I'm viewing hosted on sites) is there anyway I can change just this back?
(I haven't installed any other plugins)

Are you refering to opening a local powerpoint presentation or one on the web? If you are opening pp from websites,
maybe you should remove mozplugger. There are plenty of plugins available that combined, should do anything
mozplugger can do (and more).
If you are opening a local powerpoint doc and firefox is opening it with the plugin, I don't know why that would happen.
As was previously staed, mplayerplug-in (or is it mplayer-plugin?) handles quicktime.

I don't know how to change firefox's default method for handling plugins. Perhaps changing the order it searches them?
but i wouldn't know how to do that either.

I am using KDE and NOT using any of the "open with doubleclick" features ie: Konqueror type stuff. I usually open
program then open file.

Anybody?

BTW, I am only using Firefox, so I put all plugins in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins. That way I don't have plugins laying around all
over the place.
However, If i do ever decide to use Mozilla or Konqueror or some gnome browser, my plugins would not work and would
need to be copied appropriately.
