Hi - each day (for the last 4-5 days), I've been getting an "Oops 0003 [#1]" error followed by a mini-dump when I try to do a url install (linux askmethod) :(

I've downloaded a new boot.iso each day, I've tried different mirrors, but no good

- is it likely that it's the installer on the boot.iso that's broken, or is it the installer saying there's something wrong with my pc ?

- where can I find a list of these Oops error messages and what they mean ?

- how do I stop the screen scrolling so that I can read the messages that appear just before the dump ? (I've tried the "pause" key but that doesn't seem to work at this point)

ps. my FC5 Test1 cd still boots ok, but obvoiusly it can't download rawhide builds

-Tom

According to this site: http://penguinppc.org/embedded/howto/x1096.html "For general info on how to understand them, see the file Documentation/oops-tracing.txt in the kernel source tree."

According to Dev mailing list, this (or another similar issue preventing the boot iso's from functioning...) should be fixed in the newer kernel released today...

Thanks for the info - I've downloaded the boot.iso again, but it isn't fixed for me

They're definately done something to it - I now additionally get about 12 lines of Call Trace information but unfortunately this pushes the rest of the messages off-screen so fast that I can't even tell if I'm getting the same Oops error anymore.
