View Full Version : Upgrade to FC5???

Hey there I am new to FC and i would like to install it. atm i have ubuntu linux but am not soo pleased with it so i decided to change. Well my question is if i install FC4 now is there sth like an upgrade version of FC5, ie i dont have to delete FC4 and install FC5 new?

you can with yum but is not the recommended way.

I am presently triple booting windows exPee and fedora core 3 and 4. when fedora core 5 is ready I will install it in the partitions that fedora core 3 is using and then update the grub boot files. I have'nt booted into fedora core 3 in a long time. it can take a while before some of my hardware and some of the packages I like are ready so the new version takes a bit of time to build. I've never tried an upgrade a lot of the posts that I have read advise against it.

the most of us do that.
thats not true.. I always upgrade with anaconda and never had problems.
