Yup :) I read a book -- Hacking: The art of exploitation. It's also a great read with the same ideas... Although the book shows a bit more about cracking than hacking :p

I found that site to be the most accurate and complete.

It's my experience that true hackers don't really need a guide, they just naturally evolve into a hacker after years of learning. But we could always use more quality hackers out there! :)

It can be inferred from the points the writer speaks about is that if you got a natural want to learn you will end up having a hacker like nature.

For someone who is quite young and interested in writing code etc. It will give them some good pointers. Everyone here knows what they were like when they were 15, I didn't put any fore thought into what I said.

I found that site to be most amusing and I did chuckle a bit at the essay. However, if I was supposed to take it seriously, I find that site to be complete rubbish. I just say from my own experience that hackers are hackers, not philosophers. It's a cult where you kick your own ass with sometimes absurdly demanding work to be part of something. I think that's where he was going with all that jaded claptrap. I'm not ready to listen to anyone who doesn't listen to others. They tend to be thin skinned islands. IMO this is one big hurdle that should be overcome if linux is to get anywhere. It's like the GIMP developers and so many other developers in that world. They go their own ways and say fark the user. Well, fark large growth in desktop linux use too I'm afraid guys. To each his own.
