Is there a roadmap for Linux?
Is there a point where the Linux community feel that they (we) should be in a time frame?
I understand that each Distro is evolving and changing but is Linux as a whole moving to something great?

I'm not sure exactly how you would expect anybody to answer this question. Linux is in a constant state of development. I guess dominance in the server room and a majority of desktops would be a lofty end goal. However, this isn't a written goal that the community as a whole is striving towards.
Linux has always had a place in the server room. It's getting much easier to configure and things are getting easier and easier each day. It seems lately that the desktop market is gaining in popularity with Linux having a small percentage of the current marketplace.
Ultimately, security and stability is a key factor in the development of LInux as a whole.

It was just a common goal that I was curious about.
However I agree that Linux could start to become more popular with the desktop users.
