Brother DPC-110C Scanner setup

I have an Brother DPC-110C I am trying to setup to work with SANE. I downloaded all the drivers from Brother and installed them. Followed their instructions and when I run Kooka it sees the scanner but when the program loads it says SANE is not properly configured and it cannot see the scanner. I am sure its something simple. I do have the printer part up and running and being shared on the network. I went to the SANE web site but the instructions seem to be pretty much out of date and nothing they said to do worked. I did a lsmod and scanner did not come up so I did a modprobe -v scanner and get a fatal error. Went and made sure required lib files and modules existed, they do, computer sees the scanner but won't talk to it.

Any ideas here?
