anaconda starts....then "install exited abnormally"

Installing Fedora on an old P2/266 with 3Gig HD, ASUS P2L97 motherboard.

ISO image boots from cd rom ok.

all seesm to go well, then I am prompted to test the disk, I have already done this, and the disk is ok.

Then after about 2 minutes the following message appears:

Install exited abnormally
...
....
....
you may safely reboot your system

Can anyone tell me what went wrong and what can I do to get past this?

Hi new2linux,

What video card do you have and/or have you tried booting with the linux text argument @ the lilo prompt (as opposed to just pressing enter or typing linux)

hello

i had this exact same problem, the fix for me was to kick off the installation with a cold reboot rather than a warm reboot.
