Hi,
I am using Red Hat Fedora (Core 4) on a Pentium4 1.7ghz, 1GB ram, 80GB hdd, Geforce2 64MB, connected to the internet via an ethernet cable to a wireless 2meg adsl router. I have a static IP address which is setup in the router and it [the router] serves IP addresses dynamically to my 3 desktop and 2 laptop computers around the home.
Like I said, I am using Red Hat Fedora (Core 4) and have done a basic server install with all packages. Anaconda (the installer) runs through fine, partitions the drive, installs the O/S and packages with no problems or errors.
When I log in to Fedora (either as a user or root), and I fire up the Firefox Internet Browser - I cant connect to the internet. I checked in the "Network" program within "Systems Settings" and clicked on the "DNS" tab, and it shows an incorrect IP address in the primary DNS line. I dont have this problem with my Windows XP machines - so obviously I am doing something wrong here which needs sorting out pronto!
I entered the correct primary, secondary, and teritary IP addresses and save the settings and then the machine connects to the internet with no worries. When I reboot - same problem again.
Any ideas what im doing or I have done wrong? Am I entering the settings in the right place?
Regards,
Leigh
