Just today I installed FC4 on my HP Pavilion ZT1135. Everything so far as gone smooth, everything except the soundcard. Now, the soundcard did WORK at one point! On the first boot little wizard thing I clicked on the "Test Sound" button and it did work, I heard the sound come out the speakers just fine. But ever since that point, I have been getting no sound at all.
The soundcard detection detects the sound card just fine. It says I have a VIA VT82C686 AC97 Audio Controller and it's using the snd-via82xx module. I did a lsmod just to make sure that the module is actually loaded and it is. I've also searched these forums and found many solutions reguarding checking the alsamixer to make sure the main and PCM are unmuted and that I have External Audio whatever enabled and I still get no sound. My sound really isnt that critical but it's just one of those little annoyances I'll have. Right now I can just use my windows machine (much better sound system anyway) but I can just forsee myself being out and about and wishing I could listen to my mp3's. If anyone else has any further insight to this problem I'd appreciate any help. The thing about this that is really, really bothering me is the fact that the audio DID work on the first boot when I first tested it, then it just up and died...
