Hi,
after typing the following in the command line:
dmesg | grep ^hd

I recieved the following message:

hda: ExcelStor Technology J680, ATA DISK drive
hdc: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4160B, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
hda: max request size: 1024KiB
hda: 160836480 sectors (82348 MB) w/1794KiB Cache, CHS=16383/255/63, UDMA(100)
hda: cache flushes supported
hdc: ATAPI 40X DVD-ROM DVD-R-RAM CD-R/RW drive, 2048kB Cache, UDMA(66)

I then tried to "mount" hdc - but recieved the following message:

mount: you must specify the filesystem type

I KNOW that i have data files on that CD and also it is the same drive i installed the Linux OS with. Also, when i insert the Fedora Core 3 CD in, the icon appears on my desktop and i can browse the CD without problems. The data i have on the CD i am trying to view is normal text files and photos - also it was created using Linus with the "cdrecord" syntax. Anyone have any ideas please ?

Thanks.
