Did you already tried turning on sound on Kmix (KDE) or running alsamixer from terminal (in Gnome) - here you have to move with keyboard to the right until you reach the last and then press 'm'

Hey,
First, update to newest kernel. Then:
do this: (root terminal)
rpm -Uhv --replacefiles http://dl.atrpms.net/all/alsa-driver-1.0.9rfb-40.rhfc4.at.i386.rpm http://dl.atrpms.net/all/alsa-driver-devel-1.0.9rfb-40.rhfc4.at.i386.rpm http://dl.atrpms.net/all/alsa-kmdl-2.6.13-1.1532_FC4-1.0.9rfb-40.rhfc4.at.i686.rpm http://dl.atrpms.net/all/alsa-utils-1.0.9rfa-16.rhfc4.at.i386.rpm http://dl.atrpms.net/all/libasound2-1.0.9rf-21.rhfc4.at.i386.rpm http://dl.atrpms.net/all/alsa-lib-devel-1.0.9rf-21.rhfc4.at.i386.rpm http://dl.atrpms.net/all/alsa-lib-1.0.9rf-21.rhfc4.at.i386.rpm
That was is all in one line. NOTE: Those are 6 links. You can't copy-paste, as FF.org shortens them in terms of text. Right click > "Copy Link Location" and paste into a terminal to get the REAL link.
Then, do this:
/usr/sbin/alsaconf
follow instructions, then last of all do this:
echo "/usr/sbin/alsactl restore" >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local
Set your settings with alsamixer...
Done.
