Hello, I have a DX4850, I hear it has Linux driver support, can anyone help me set it up? The DX4800 (compatible driver) doesn't show up in system-config-printer or cups-config-daemon. In fact, cups-config-daemon doesn't work either.

Can anyone help?

EDIT: Also, I got the drivers from http://www.avasys.jp/english/linux_e/dl_spc.html .

I am am trying to install an HP printer and have the info on the exact device- http://www.linuxprinting.org/cups-doc.html I still have no idea of how to start because I have not found a good overview of how you generally install things. Anyway that linuxprinting.org tells you where to find drivers and about CUPS, where again, CUPS is Greek because I have not seen an overview that explains where CUPS fits in.

Good luck.
