I ran the config to allow to read from NTFS, and fedore recognized my drive both during install and after. It's a Seagate 160GB USB.
My questions:
Is there a way to write to NTFS from Fedora?
What could cause the drive to be unmountable?
thanks!

You can't write on NTFS partition. You can only mount it if you have NTFS driver installed. See the link.
http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/rpm/fedora4.html

You could write to NTFS if you're feeling particularly brave. I belive there's an unstable write-driver for NTFS out there.

I'm not that brave :-P
ive goty too much info on this drive, and i'm a linux n00b.
I've used it as a workstation for a few years, but never did anything technical, even to the extent of installing more than xmms.

The best way would be to create a FAT32 partition so you can transfer files between your OSes.
